All is well in Chicago. My granddaughters come home from 3 weeks at a theater arts camp in Wisconsin. They will each perform in separate productions tomorrow. I sure have missed them. I've also missed hearing from you guys, I guess everyone is busy enjoying summer activities. at this time we're debating a trip to DC on Sunday as a close friend of the family died yesterday in Beltsville. That's along way to drive with the kids who have been away from thieir friends for a month. Also went to a miliary collectors show with my husband today: it was really interesting. He was actually able to get rid of some stuff he had laying around that he no longer "needed." Be well. Brenda

It is muggy here to Dusty in So. MD. As I post at 8:45 on Saturday morning, we are having a nasty thunderstorm, it isn't supposed to do anything to cool things off though. It is so hard to believe it is August, where has the summer gone. Each year, it seems to go by quicker and quicker. Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend, Brenda. If you do come, let me know and hopefully, we can get together for lunch before you go back. I hope everyone has a wonderful August.

All is cool and delightful here on the mountain. Had a real scare the past few months resulting in 24 days in the hospital were I left a good hunk of colon. First time I have ever been really sick and it sucked! Lousy diagnostic care to start with!! Anyway all is better and I'm well on the road to recovery. Good health to all. Joe

Happy Birthday to Brenda too (in July). I've been involved in a lost dog search in Fairfax County. Dulles treats live cargo like suitcases. I won't repeat the many horror stories but they messed up big time on this one because a soldier has now lost his dog because of their stupidity. We need a Jeddah law. United won't be able to push this one under the rug. Anyway, greetings from Virginia. Keep your loved ones close. http://www.helpfindjeddah.com

Joe, sorry to hear you were under the weather but am glad you're feeling better. Same goes for you Don. I was wondering why tingum had dissappeared for several weeks. I didn't go to DC, stayed here and helped my husband & his Lions Club sell tickets at their annual Chicken Bar-b-que and auction to raise money for our Rescue Squad. My daughter and granddqughters helped too. Sorry we couldn't do luch Bonnie, maybe next time. Also happpy birthday wishes to Mary Briggs whose birthday is August 3. I can still remmember the birthday parties we used to have in the back yard on her patio. Be Well, Brenda

I also want to wish my best buddy Mary Briggs Happy Birthday but a day late. Brenda I do remember those birthday parties on Mary's patio. Those were the days. I still remember all the good times we had on Kenmont Road. I enjoyed your visit in June very much Brenda so make sure when you come back to DC for a visit you call me for lunch. Now you and Mary have caught up to me in age for a few months. Ha! Ha! Don and Joe: I am glad to hear that you both are doing well now. You know how it is now that we are advancing in years. We have to keep up our doctor appointments and stay well. To the geezer girls I will see you in a few weeks for our road trip down south. Anita

Hey Everyone Thanks Brenda for getting the August Roll Call started and many thanks to all who have responded!!!!Wow! summer is almost over, and I am exhausted. Just got back from a trip to MS to check on Mom and fix the things that Dad use to fix. Talk about hot and muggy - Mississippi in July/August is not vacation country. Just checking the air pressure on mom's car at 7:30am in the garage I was sitting on the concrete sweating. Not use to that sweating stuff! Don and Joe glad to see you both here and that you are doing good, now. I wondered what had happened to both of you. In the future tell your spouse or significant other to give me an email or post a note on here. I'm just glad you both are ok and here. Looks like I will be joining the Geezer group in a few weeks. Back in the spring Anita and Bonnie Jenkins traveled to Karla's in NC to spend some time together. Then a visit was made to Mike Anderson in SC and he had a surprise guest - Kenny McConkey. They all went out for dinner then danced the night away and closed some establishments down. It don't remember the exact wording but it became the Old Geezers with the Geezer Gals group. Looks like the Geezer group is going to reunit again in a few weeks and I decided I just couldn't miss the fun this time. Anyone in the area want to come? Let us know. There is always room for more Geezers. I am in the process of thinking about putting a book together of the June party like I did for our 60th birthday bash. Thinking is the key word here - no action taken yet. Do any of you out there have pictures of the June party? Please send them my way if you do. Well, hopefully I will be getting back on schedule soon. Two of the grandkids return to school tomorrow and 2 next Monday. It has been fun watching them this summer - I better enjoy it while they still think Nana is wonderful. lol Then I have a week before going to NC then home for 3 weeks and then a trip to CA. Then start getting ready for Mom's visit and Christmas. Who am I kidding about getting back to normal -guess I have been there and just didn't realize this is the NEW normal. Anyone know James Kenney in school. He found us, through the website!!! We never had an address for him and he sent me an email last week. He is in CA. Yea, another one off the "Missing In Action" list. Need to go update that list. Thank you all so much for being an active part of this website and keeping it going. If we all were lurkers and just want to read what others posted there would be nothing to read. Funny?!?! Some just don't get the concept. Good Health to all of you - Have a wonderful August! All is great this 11th of August (can it really be that far through the summer) in Swan Point. The weather really cooled down, at 9 pm last night, it was only 63 degrees. Looking forward to the lunch bunch's next event this Thursday at Cherie's. Can't hardly control myself about going to see Karla and Mike next week. Life is good.
