Anita sent me this today: Sandra B. McCloud Sandra Bays McCloud, 61, of Gore died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, in Winchester Medical Center. Arrangements with Giffin Funeral Home of Capon Bridge, W.Va., are incomplete. Our deepest sympathies are with her family and friends.

I remember Sandy Bays. She always had a nice smile. I tried to search her to see what became of her. Do we know anything about her shortened life? May she and her family find peace.

I checked online to see if Griffin Funeral Home had an online guest book but they are not online. Anita bumps into Sandy's sister at work. Anita told me awhile ago where Sandy was living (WV) and that she was in poor health. Anita probably told me what her condition was but to be honest I don't remember. Maybe Anita can shed some more light on Sandy when she visits here.

I felt so bad when Anita told me about Sandy. She has suffered an aneursm quite a few years ago and never fully recovered from it. I remember Sandy's laugh and smile from school. We will miss our friend.

Is Sandy's sister Laura? It has to be. I checked my yearbooks and they look so much alike. Laura was Class of '67 and I always remembered her smile and she had a great laugh. If my old memory serves me, didn't they live in Southlawn?? My condolences to the family. I will try to sign the guestbook at the funeral home. Maggie

Hello Margaret, Yes, Laura Bays Fortner was Sandy's sister. She worked at NRL for years and then transferred a few years back. I haven't seen her since she left but their sister-in-law Jan Bays who is married to their brother Kenny Bays works at NRL and I see her once in a while. That is how I found out about Sandy through the NRL network. Bonnie is right about her having an aneryism years ago and being in a wheel chair for many years. She had a stroke and was in the hospital when she died. Yes, they lived in Southlawn I think on the main street. Sandy was a nice person with a nice smile. Yes, we are getting older and it sucks.
