We left MD in Nov 1971 - Jack said no more snow. Being raised military and always having tropical stations he didn't like the cold. Now, for me leaving I was more than heartbroken - I cried all the way to the Georgia border. After all these years I have adjusted. Arizona has just enough of a change in seasons that I like it. Are you all getting ready for Turkey day?Anyone have any good recipes they want to share?

We have a family recipe that is served at every holiday meal --- Bean Bundles Canned whole green beans - drain and count into bundles of 7 bacon- slice down the center and microwave on paper towels for 2 minutes - then wrap 1 slice around each bundle Line them up in a baking pan French Dressing to pour over the top Cover with foil and refrigerate for several hours Bake at 375 degrees uncovered Remove with a slotted spoon and serve (I use 3 cans of beans for each lb of bacon)

opps I forgot that part - I usually bake for about an hour, but if you have anything else going in the oven at a different temperature you can just keep them in until the bacon has shrunk tight and browned These are not only a family favorite, but anytime I've taken them anywhere people always ask me to bring them again next time.

Going to be a different Turkey Day here. The entire town has decided to do a traditional Turkey Day out on the Point as a fund raiser for the Christmas decorations. Should be just like the Pilgrims with everyone eating outside. I cannot imagine a turkey stuffed with peas and rice so I will report on the outcome!

Linda - thanks for the green bean recipe - got the ingredients and it will be on our table. Joe - Sounds like a fun Turkey Day - Please do report on the peas & rice stuffing. Take some shots too, share that warm island sun with us.
